Guest Speaker: Elizabeth Margolis

World Vision International

    Elizabeth Margolis is an experienced advocacy professional specializing in policy and programmes for health and nutrition, humanitarian response, food security, school meals, gender transformative policy, and development project management. She is currently serving as Health & Nutrition External Engagement Manager for World Vision International. In this role, she manages global health & nutrition policy advocacy, global events, and relationships with partners including UN agencies and civil society. Previously with World Vision, she has managed school meal programs and humanitarian responses in Angola and Burundi. She was advocacy lead for WV’s Global Hunger Response and has advised on food security humanitarian policy. Liz has also previously worked for the United Nations World Food Program on cash transfers, policy, and data analysis. In addition, she has worked for several US-based NGOs and speaks French, Spanish and Portuguese fluently. Liz holds a Master’s Degree in Social Development with Distinction from the University of Sussex and a Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy and Ethics from Templeton Honors College at Eastern University. She holds the GenderPro Certificate and is a Certified Development Project Management (CDPM), and was also a recipient of the International Mickey Leland Hunger Fellowship (’21-’23) through the US Congressional Hunger Center. Liz is excited to speak as a youth to other youth at the Model UN conference. She herself engages yearly in the World Health Assembly, influencing resolutions and making official statements on the record, just as students participating in Model UN do. As a young professional working in the world that Model UN imitates, she looks forward to sharing how she started her career, and her passion for the important topics students will discuss at LINMUN.
